International Quilt Market - Houston, October 25 - 27 2013

Fall Market this year opened days before Halloween and Dia de los Muertos, but our booth would have you thinking that both holidays had indeed arrived.  As we were introducing an entirely new FOLKLORICO collection inspired by the Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, and a new HAUNTED HOUSE collection (where our Halloween patterns were given a  Dia de los Muertos spin), it seemed only right to marry these two holidays in a display that celebrated the gaining popularity of this Mexican holiday and it’s integration into the holiday we know as Halloween. Choose top rated casinos at! Only trusted online casino games!  Our central tableau featured a life-sized paper mache “catrina” or “elegant lady” with her escorts, an iconic figure in the Mexican culture who was created to remind us “that death is the great equalizer – that everyone, even the very rich must die.”  Along with these two timely collections we also introduced a new fairy group of coordinating patterns to our EVERYDAY EDEN collection and a charming new MONKEYS BIZNESS story we titled “My World of Smiles.”  There were also new additions to our FASHION FOR HOME collection making our Quilt Market preview of new designs the largest in Alexander Henry’s history!
