International Quilt Market - Houston, October 25 - 27 2013 |
Fall Market this year opened days before Halloween and Dia de los Muertos, but our booth would have you thinking that both holidays had indeed arrived. As we were introducing an entirely new FOLKLORICO collection inspired by the Mexican artist, Frida Kahlo, and a new HAUNTED HOUSE collection (where our Halloween patterns were given a Dia de los Muertos spin), it seemed only right to marry these two holidays in a display that celebrated the gaining popularity of this Mexican holiday and it’s integration into the holiday we know as Halloween. Choose top rated casinos at bestauscasinos.com! Only trusted online casino games! Our central tableau featured a life-sized paper mache “catrina” or “elegant lady” with her escorts, an iconic figure in the Mexican culture who was created to remind us “that death is the great equalizer – that everyone, even the very rich must die.” Along with these two timely collections we also introduced a new fairy group of coordinating patterns to our EVERYDAY EDEN collection and a charming new MONKEYS BIZNESS story we titled “My World of Smiles.” There were also new additions to our FASHION FOR HOME collection making our Quilt Market preview of new designs the largest in Alexander Henry’s history!

International Quilt Market - Houston, October 27 - 29 2012 |
At Fall Market this year we treated fabric lovers to a beautiful collection of coordinating designs we call FULHAM ROAD. Inspired by English decorator patterns from the 60’s and 70’s, these florals, paisleys and stripes possess an English country quality, but in turn also feel modern (and rather glam!) in their use of mirror image, grand scale and a loose painterly hand. Taking decorator cues from designers we love like Sister Parish, we created a decorative tableaux that suggested a woman who loves “pattern on pattern,” an explosion of print! Along with this dynamic preview we also showcased new additions to our Fashion for Home Collection and we released new designs in our Lake Hollywood Lawn collection as well. They say everything is BIG in Texas – and at this season’s Houston Market, our preview was HUGE!

International Quilt Market - Houston, October 29-31 2011 |
This season at Market our booth was a burst of color as we introduced a new collection, BARCELONA, and some exciting, new additions to our FOLKORICO collection. Published quilt designer and lecturer, Charlotte Angotti, created four beautifully pieced quilted panels representing the four different colors stories available in BARCELONA. Glittering skeletons, an installation of marionettes, and a donkey named Pablo were just a few of the additional elements that earned Alexander Henry the Best Booth award in the multiple booth category! Buyers were excited to order our new Virgin of Guadalupe pattern, "La Virgencita," along with coordinating chili peppers and some dramatic Dia de los Muertos patterns. And speaking of dramatic, we brought along some new (and dark) additions to our very successful "Ghastlies" collection. In the latest Ghastlie offering, the Ghastlies have invited all of their strange, extended family for "A Ghastlie Family Reunion." Some of the Ghastlies even made an appearance at our booth on the last day of Market making this seasons Quilt Market a very Ghastlie affair for all!

International Quilt Market - Kansas City, May 18 - 20 2012 |
Quilt Market in Kansas City found us showcasing our FASHION for HOME cotton oxford collection in a rather usual way: Piling ten creatively upholstered chairs into a ten foot 'mountain' of graphic patterns. Mobiles of moustaches and two beautifully pieced panels from our friend (and published quilt designer), Charlotte Angotti added to the mood and helped us take the second place ribbon for Best Multiple Booth. Along with these decorator prints we previewed our first collection of laminated cotton prints and two juvenile collections from our Spring 2013 offering, PIRATE ISLAND and ONCE UPON A TIME. Click these collection names to preview the patterns.
Our laminates can be viewed by clicking on 'other qualities' on our 'view the collections' page. In Kansas City you're supposed to eat barbeque so we did. And unlike Texas barbeque (which is more about a smokey flavor with a dry rub on the meat), KC barbecue is saucy and delicious. Kind of like our prints. Thank you Kansas City!

International Quilt Market - Salt Lake City May 13-15 2011 |
At Market in Salt Lake City, which is favorite place of team of Canadian internet casino Maple Leaf, we displayed an exciting group of indigo colored prints culled from every corner of our collection. Inspired by Japanese indigo-dyed cottons and our love of Japanese selvedge denim, we dubbed this group, “Alexander Henry Denim Friendly,” and it created a lot of excitement with customers who are long-time devotees of this classic coloration and with new comers to the allure of indigo blue in all its rich, deep colorations and variations. We also introduced two sneak previews of our Spring collection, “Rivoli” and “Natura,” making the stop at our booth in Salt Lake City a real feast for the eyes!
